Jasper Street runs from Saratoga Street in Market Center, across Franklin and Mulberry Streets, into Seton Hill at Druid Park Avenue, physically connecting the two neighborhoods along one corridor. Starting in 2023, Seton Hill and Market Center partnered on a shared beautification initiative for that stretch: commissioning public art to replace blank walls and underused space with something worth walking past.
The artists
Six artists were commissioned for the corridor in 2023, with their work installed between winter 2023 and spring 2024:

How it came together
The project was funded through a Community Safety Works grant from Maryland’s Department of Housing and Community Development, awarded jointly to Seton Hill and Market Center as a cross-neighborhood collaboration rather than a Seton Hill-only effort.

The installations run the length of the corridor, from Saratoga Street through Franklin and Mulberry Streets to Druid Park Avenue. It’s an easy add-on to a walk through either neighborhood.
